Pray Brighton and Hove is a growing community of people committed to praying for our city.

Whether you live here or simply carry a heart for Brighton and Hove, you are so welcome.

Jesus loves this city — it’s where He’s placed us, and together it’s our responsibility and joy to cover Brighton and Hove in prayer as one united Church. We'd love for you to join us!

We are excited to launch a joint week of 24-7 prayer as churches across Brighton!
The week of prayer will take place from 1–7 September 2025, and it’s not too early to sign up for a slot now.

This is part of a global 24-7 week of prayer. In Brighton you can join in from wherever you are, at any time during the week, and still be a vital part of it. You don’t need to come to a physical place. You can pray where you are.

Our desire is to see as many different churches involved as possible, and for this week to complement the other prayer initiatives that individual churches are planning throughout September.

We ask that each person signs up for no more than one hour total — either two 30-minute slots or just a single 30-minute slot if you prefer.

There’s room for multiple people to sign up in each slot, but we encourage you to look out for empty slots first and start there, helping us cover the whole week in prayer.

You don’t need a login to take part. Just enter your first name and church name (e.g., Bob, St. Peter’s) when you sign up — this way we can see the wider Church in Brighton praying together, passing the prayer baton between churches.

Once you’ve signed up, you’ll receive an email with five suggested prayer prompts to help guide your time.

Thank you — and please do spread the word across your networks and churches!

8 Expectations for Each Prayer Warrior

  1. Think Kingdom, not just church – We pray “Your Kingdom come, Your will be done” over Brighton and Hove, agreeing together across denominations and traditions.

  2. Be led by the Holy Spirit – Ask the Spirit what and how to pray. As God’s children, we pray with the authority He gives us.

  3. Stay connected – If you’re on Facebook, consider joining the wider prayer conversations happening during the week.

  4. Own your hour – Your prayer time is significant. As you pray, you’re covering situations of need, hope, and transformation in our city.

  5. Share the burden – If the Holy Spirit gives you a word, burden, or encouragement, please share it (without breaking confidentiality) so we can all press in together. You can do this by email or message.

  6. Pray with others if you can – There’s power in agreement (Matthew 18:19). If possible, invite someone to pray with you. If you can’t make your time, try to swap with someone else.

  7. Pray from Jesus’ victory – The cross has already won the battle. We pray and minister from a place of His triumph over darkness.

  8. Embrace the five focuses of 24-7 prayer (inspired by Pete Greig’s Dirty Glory):

    • Presence – Seek God above all else.

    • House of Prayer – Respond with varied and heartfelt prayers (Ephesians 6:18).

    • Mission – Pray with an outward focus on our city and world.

    • Justice – Let prayer lead us into compassion and action for the vulnerable.

    • Joy – As His presence fills us, we pray with joy and faith for what God can do in Brighton and Hove.

"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms."
— Ephesians 6:12
